As a guy, I have had a girl be awkward about me inviting her over to my place after dating for like 1. I just wanted to hang out at my place instead of always having to "go out" especially since it seemed like I was always paying. After confronting her that it seemed like she wasn't interested in me and her lack of response that satisfied me she was saying she wanted me to know her better and basically saying that when I got to know her more I wouldn't like her I gave up bothering to try anymore.

If hadn't been expecting things to escalate physically beyond what they had but even cuddling on the sofa or whatever would have been nice. His attitude hasn't changed towards me.

If he's really into me, he'll be able to wait. I think him inviting you for lunch is him continuing being a perfect gentleman. If he had something else in mind he would have invited you over at night and dinner and alcohol would be involved. Inviting you over for a lunch is pretty innocent.

Go and enjoy yourself and use that opportunity to tell him about your dating style and that you are the traditional type and need a serious committed relationship to be intimate. Rose, please tell us where you found this man? Are there more of him so we can hurry and pick one too?

Seriously, I think you've found a GEM of a man! At least the no physical contact advice was followed and it does help.

August 25, at 3: We will definitely encourage our children to take a different approach than we did in regards to that! We are grateful that the Lord protected us from a lot that could have happened, but both know from prior relationships the detriment that acting too quickly on physical attraction can be to a relationship.

It often causes it to become too serious too quickly, and in our experience always caused a more painful, drawn-out and broken ending. July 18, at 6: Matt, my husband and I dated long-distance throughout our dating relationship and three months into our engagement. These principles can definitely be applied to long-distance relationships. Only seeing each other about once a month or so definitely allowed for Lee to plan out the dates well, for us to not waste time getting to know each other…communication was a huge factor of our relationship since it was mostly all we had, and for us to approach the physical intimacy at the right time.

However, we did have to be careful with not becoming too isolated once we were finally living in the same city. We were engaged by that point, but I still think it was an adjustment for both of us to find balance in this new part of our relationship. July 19, at Lindsey, thanks for your thoughts and for thinking about applying them to long distance relationships as well. July 17, at One of the best things Jon ever did for me in our dating relationship was to NOT kiss me until we got engaged.

And not only had Jon not kissed me, he had not kissed any girl before me-what a treasure this was and is to me. July 18, at 5: Allison, thank you for sharing this! It will not be made for us. July 14, at 2: GREAT insight — so many quotables… looking forward to reading more.
